During her rollercoaster career in the corporate world she developed valuable skills in team management, sales and marketing. She trained successfully in Leadership, Absence Management, Presentation and Negotiation Techniques. The international business world taught her about team spirit, business politics, leadership styles, stress and work life balance. Her fascination about the motivation behind her own and other people's behavior made her decide to go on a sabbatical. During this journey, instead of a focus on development of the head, she felt an urge to explore her heart and inner drivers more closely.
A long cherished wish led her on an inner path of self discovery through the mountains and valleys of India and Nepal, via meditation retreats, intense yoga and visualisation exercises, training in Reiki and in depth philosophy courses in the Buddhist Art of Living. This one year journey changed the way she looks at life, our potential for growth, the reasons behind human suffering and the fulfilment after opening our hearts. Her unique approach to coaching is, depending on the wishes of you as her client, influenced by this way of looking at the world.
Karin is a fully qualified Practitioner in Life Coaching (LCH Dip. from Achievement Specialists) and certified NLP Core Skills Practitioner. Karin has successfully completed courses in dream work, creative imagination (visualisations, guided meditations), Clear Language, drug and alcohol addictions and is interested in cognitive behavior therapy (CBT).
She has a Master Degree (MA) from the VU University in Amsterdam (The Netherlands) with majors in Organisational Behaviour & Philosophy of Management, Organisation and Leadership. Her bachelor studies in Sociology taught her to observe people, habits, values and behaviours in an all encompassing way. The programme had a special focus on structures and change in societies. She studied Human Resources at the University of Paris ~ Sorbonne (France).
Her continuous drive for learning led her towards a five year MA in Transpersonal Counselling and Psychotherapy. Karin is now a Counselling and Psychotherapy Trainee with an accredited member of the BACP and UKCP (CCPE in London). Transpersonal philosophies guide us towards dealing with the purpose of our issues, combined with working with the cause and its solution. Personal problems and difficult times are seen to have a useful purpose in that they indicate the way for us to change, grow and unfold.
She enjoys visiting events, lectures and network meetings to share with colleagues in the coaching profession. A sense of feeling free, love and being nurtured at soul level are important for her happiness. Being in nature, travelling, reading books, drinking herbal tea or wine and sharing thoughts and feelings with others are a few of the things she truly loves.
Karin is looking forward to listening to you, and to explore your unique path towards growth and happiness.
